A Via Crucis is celebrated. The first and last station are celebrated inside the Church of Santa María la Mayor, the Brotherhood occupying the central nave.
Undoubtedly emotional is the feeling of seeing this Brotherhood in the street, the route that is made in its entirety in silence, in the dark through the narrow streets of the Almedina, helps the gathering and the prayer of the via crucis.
Currently the previous preparations for the procession (distribution of chains and lanterns) are made in the Baena Castle. From there the Brotherhood formed to go to the Main Church.
Upon arriving at Santa Maria la Mayor, in a row one by one, carrying wooden crosses on his shoulder, silence is only interrupted by the friction of the chains that the brothers carry on the ankles, and by the harsh sound of a drum dueling, other brothers accompany the crosses with lit candle lanterns, offering visitors a hard-to-forget picture.
The Christ is carried without a throne, directly on the cross, on the shoulders of four brothers, followed by the Brotherhood Councilor, the Elder Brother and numerous faithful.
